Hi PaulS, a little hint - try enabling "prevent internal reflection" in the white material, it should speed up a lot. I also turned off highlight from both materials, since there are hdr reflections, and turned on 2 sided and transp shadow for the glass - looks more "dense" now.

Yes, the internal reflections in the BAM should have been off and usually are set like that if there is transparency active in the BAM - it being a blend material the internal reflections setting has an effect. _

The 2 sided effect is already there as the BAM has it active - seems if one of the pair of blend materials is set then the other takes on it's properties. On my machine there is no difference in appearance turning it on.  - Good catch on the transparent shadows! I think I turned them off doing render tests on the material as they were adding a huge render hit - just didn't turn them back on:-)
